The Blackest Ever Black released singer-songwriter Carla Dal Forno stops by NTS' London studio once a month for an hour-long show featuring original productions side by side with old favourites and inspirations ranging from minimal synth to folk and dream pop…
Fittingly, the identity of composer Yoran is as cryptic as the content of Montparnasse; piano recital music flits in and out of earshot, just as snippets of obscure French dialogue fails to allow for any concrete context. This is brilliantly dream-like, a simulation of wandering like a flaneur down streets long past. 'Montparnasse' was followed up by two more singles (of a totally different nature, I should add) before Yoran temporarily disappeared from the music scene. He later reemerged as a trance DJ under the moniker Yoji Biomehanika and regularly plays at raves all over the world.
